Thai Monks

Young Monks, Bangkok

The Monks in Thailand are very friendly and are almost always interested in conversation. These two were waiting for the water taxi. I alway wonder what are they thinking? After talking to a few of them…I realized they think about the same stuff we all think about. These monks in Bangkok are very fortunate, they all get free sandals from the many tourists that pass through on their way to their hedonistic beach resorts. (Well not all of them).

How did Buddha Get so smart?

All that we are is the result of what we have thought. If a man speaks or acts with an evil thought, pain follows him. If a man speaks or acts with a pure thought, happiness follows him, like a shadow that never leaves him.
Buddha

All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become.
Buddha

All things appear and disappear because of the concurrence of causes and conditions. Nothing ever exists entirely alone; everything is in relation to everything else.

Thailand Vacation!

Lonely Planet Thailand Guidebook

Bangkok Sunset

These temples are one of the best reasons to stay in Bangkok for a day or two.  You must fight the urge to run out of the generally dirty and ugly city, but it will be worth it.  Make sure you wear long pants and closed toed shoes.

Thailand is the easiest place to travel. I recomend it to everyone, not because its my favorite place, but because it has something for everyone. Thailand draws more visitors than any other country in southeast Asia with its irresistible combination of breathtaking natural beauty, inspiring temples, renowned hospitality, robust cuisine and ruins of fabulous ancient kingdoms. Few countries are so diverse.

The Lonely Planet Guidebooks are the only way to see the country properly on a lower budget. You will get a more realistic experience if you travel on a lower budget. Save the money for gifts.
